Dr. Wright-Thomasson brings special expertise in disease prevention. Her passion for prevention has been a major focus throughout her career, as both an internist and cardiologist. She currently provides cardiology care for patients at the Valley Cardiology office in Lumberton.
While earning her medical degree, with honors, from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Dr, Wright-Thomasson achieved Alpha Omega Alpha membership and received the Johanna Blumel Award for Scholarship. In addition, she has a graduate degree in nutrition – with minors in biochemistry and counseling – from Texas Women's University. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences/Medical Center in Lubbock, where she also began her Fellowship in Cardiology. To complete her Fellowship, she transferred to Indiana University to take advantage of a project using echocardiography for the detection of sub-clinical coronary artery disease. Dr. Wright-Thomasson is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology.
A resident of Raeford, Dr. Wright-Thomasson's hobbies include classical equestrian arts, restorative agriculture, and creating healing environments such as shinrin-yoku.
